(Frank Lloyd Wright) You decided at once To take swimming lessons? Have you considered that It could be quite simply Because the ice had melt? Have you started to think What diving really means To your heart and your soul? Have you understood why You are so much afraid Of what is “the deep end?” Have you thought that, maybe, You must learn how to swim In your dark emotions? But wait: have you not earned A “Best Learner” medal For your valiant efforts? So have faith in yourself For the rewards are in The deep end of your soul… © 2002 from "A KARMIC LESSON" Needed some air, a plate of that gorgeous weather A much needed refill of our last presence there The sense that new cravings just needed to be stirred The squirrels were jumping of joy The pigeons were courting like mad The ground smelled of still humid earthly scents The sun and the breeze were playing hide and seek My mind was on alert to every move around My heart was pounding from emotions profound My love was expanding like a giant balloon On this day so perfect, hungry to see you soon I could feel that your heart and your soul were content Icing on the cake of this magical moment… © 2003 from "A KARMIC LESSON" Also published in Anthology: “The Best Poems and Poets of 2003” International Society of Poets You’ve said to me, “I am sorry?” Have you noticed how oftentimes I have said, “my apology?” We have maintained a safe distance For some dark but good reason, We keep on taking no chance For more than just that one reason. Yes we must have hurt each other, Must have behaved very badly, Even if it was not deadly It must have been some big smother. Maybe you were my lady-love And I, a mean Casanova, Caught in a bad tunnel of love, Tangled in a nasty saga. Time to repair the damage done, ‘Cause there is no other option: This chance is the very last one To both secure our redemption. © 2001 from the book "DEJA VU" Seeing you out there In others’ company Unable to say hello And disrupt your privacy? Do you realize how hard it is Being in your presence A most delightful energy Unable to touch you And fulfill my fantasy? Do you realize how hard it is, Living the sweet torture To think of you daily Unable to reach you And discuss our destiny? Do you realize how hard it is To love you like I do Dreaming of an intimacy That for now just can’t be Until God has mercy? Do you realize how sweet it is Having to accept this Knowing it is necessary Useless to fight back, Because we share eternity. © 2004 from "A KARMIC LESSON" Also published in anthology: “The International Who’s Who in Poetry, 2004” The International Library of Poetry That you were once my best prize, And have fully understood The dark dream from my childhood That haunted me with such fright, Rain or shine and day or night. We have been together before, Thus cannot be that once more, I understand it’s the law, Another test for my flaws… Since you cannot be my wife, I wish you a happy life. See you again one more time? Maybe in the next lifetime? © 2001 from the book "DEJA VU" Also published in several anthologies, in particular « Poets of the Millennium », 2001, Famous Poets Society, and « Celebrations of Honor », 2003, Cader Publishing all poems © Gilles Marie-Paul Laheurte | Inspirational Poems | Angeline | A Karmic Lesson | Samples1 | Samples2 | | Return Home | Architecture & Planning | Fine Arts | Writing | Poetry | Music | Photography | Theater | Contact | |
